Our Story

Premier Lanes is a local institution here in Chesterfield, yet our story begins much earlier before our current location.  

Premier Lanes has its origins as Liberty Bowl, which was once located on the corner of Gratiot Ave and Frazho.  Liberty Bowl was opened by brothers Joe and Frank Sgroi in 1976 and housed the popular Ritz nightclub.  In 1998, Kmart purchased the property where Liberty Bowl was located, and a decision was made to move the bowling alley.  Liberty Bowl was then relocated to its current location in a former indoor shopping center off 23 Mile Rd and the business itself was renamed Premier Lanes.   At the time of opening, Premier Lanes housed a movie theater with three screens which was called Chesterfield Cinemas.

Did you know, the bowling lanes and pinsetters themselves that you play on here at Premier are the original relics from Liberty Bowl?   They were painstakingly dismantled and reassembled here in Chesterfield.

Since our opening, we offer much more then bowling.   We house Diesel Concert Lounge, which hosts major national bands and can accommodate large gatherings.  We also house one of the largest public pinball collections with Sparks Pinball Museum.   We have our own inhouse restaurant called Motor Cafe and offer indoor golf simulation.
